I wanted to thank Rod, Phil & Oach, for giving me sand from their fuge. I don't know all what was in there but I have tons of creepy-crawlys all over my tank. I'm having a blast poking around w/my flashlight. Now I can finally get that Manderin!

I highly suggest asking everyone you visit for a cupfull of their sand.

What kind you getting? I have pods of all sorts all over and my dragonette still died.

I'm gonna look around at the shop the frag swap is at today & see if any of theirs are eating regular food. You wouldn't believe all the pods in my tankthough--millions of em!

I know. The dragonette I got was from I think it was Todd who left the hobby several months ago? Naperville or Plainfield guy. Anyway, it was eating, then it stopped. My glass is covered with 3 different kinds of pods at least every night.

The spotted mandarin is reported to be the easiest to keep alive. Mine has been doing great since being introduced at the beginning of March.

Missed out? How so? My mandarin is foraging for itself, at least it has for a little over eight months.

Or did you mean to point that to Ostrow?

ChicagoRM, did you not get any pods from the chaeto? Remind me next meeting and I'll give you some sand/rubble.

I Just got pods everywhere too. My mandarin is still alive but very skinny. I don't feed a lot and when I do the mandarin never gets a chance with the dwarf angel and the yellow tang .
I bury frozen brine shrimp in the sand while I distract the tang with flake food. The mandarin is able to get to the food brine shrimp in the sand . I should try a tall glass on it's side where the mandarin will feel
comfortable to go in and eat while the other guys can't get in. ?
