pods?

My tank is almost 2 year old. I have about 50 lbs. of live rock from different sources. With some of it I got a ton of small (many deformed) star fish. Could I also have gotten pods?

I was thinking of a scooter blenny.

Are pods that noticable that I would be seeing them?

I also saw something called "Ocean Pods" on line, a bottle live pods for $25. I have a AquaClear500 hanging on my tank as sort of a fuge with sand and macro algea, it just trickles into tank, would this work for pods?

yes and if u want more add DT's phytoplankton 2 or 3 times a week. turn skimmer off for about 1 hr after adding. u will see alot more. i also pile small amount of LR rubble in corner of tank. this acts as a pod nest. usually u only see pods at night. u will see a few w/ lights on but much more at night. try looking at night w/ a dim red lense flashlight. try the DT's.

Most likely you did.

They are visible to the human eye. You are likely to see them on the tank sides after the lights have been out at night for a while, or scurrying on the rock and substrate.

Some tanks support them better than others, so, you probably have them, just maybe not in large quantities.

I would start out with maybe 1/2 to 1/3 the recommended dose, and probably wouldn't dose that often to begin with.

Otherwise, unless you have any clams or other larger invertebrates that feed off of phyto, you are adding extra nutrients to the tank.

they thrive best in caulerpa IMO... i look in my fuge and after about 2 seconds of staring it's like hundreds of them appear out of nowhere... pretty cool.

Chances are you probably have them.
I see people say they see them, but their pretty small.
I did the same thing w/ my aquaclear for fuge for now, working on sump now.
I have a mandarin, so to make sure I had enough pods I ordered through COPEPODS.COM, $20 pr btl
I wouldn't advise calerpa for macro.
If you don't have lights 24/7 for calerpa it will sex and overgrow
