How Do You Deliver Water to your Algae Scrubber

Dedicated water pump in the sump?

or with the overflow to your sump?

I use the overflow to my sump.
I use a DC pump so I can vary the flow through the scrubber.
The range of flows I use vary between 30 to 47 g/hour per inch of screen width.
This gives me a tank turnover between 4 to 6 times per hour.

All of your return water goes over your scrubber?

You also left out a loop off of the return pump that recirculates back over the scrubber. This is how I used to do mine when I ran one.

Are you using a Bean Animal overflow? If so, do you have any pictures of the plumbing?

I want to do this setup for my new tank.

interesting.

any photos that you'd like to share?
Here is a photo of my ATS and the algae that I harvested from it just before taking the first photo. There are 3 sheets of mesh held in place by the white PVC clips. It is lot with a inexpensive LED grow light from Amazon a few hours in the early morning.

No problem I hope they were clear enough. I have to say I am very glad all that GHA is not growing in my display.

I use a separate pump that's in my skimmer compartment. It feeds, my reactors, ATS, frag tank, and pods bucket.

I figure if I shut down my display for maintenance I can keep that pump rolling and feeding the other parts of my systems.

My RAIN2 is fed from my return pump.

I have triple siphons on my main overflow - one feeds the ATS, another a remote refugium and the third just dumps into the sump. Works great, is 'free' and doesn't steal flow from my main return.

can you adjust the flow rate to your ATS at all this way?
