i have been dosing b-ionic by hand daily for over a year and am considering getting a calcium reactor.............what are drawbacks of using reactor? which brand to use for a -155 total gallon SPS system-?
I'm dosing daily again right now. I had some problems with my reactor. Hope to have a new one ( or mine fixed and running ) soon. I like useing a reactor much better.
I have a 55. I don't mind (much) daily dosing, but I worry about vacations (usually about 2 wks.) I can sometimes get a friend who knows chemistry to come in and check on things, but it's still worrisome. So is leaving my tank in the charge of a machine designed for a larger tank. Has anyone had any experience with a small tank and a reactor?
I do 2 gallons a day kalk and then make up the difference with Randy's formula. It slowed down over the winter months and the kalk was keeping up but now as we have some little spells of warmer weather my sps is picking up growth faster and I'm slowly having to start adding again. I imagine this summer it will get more frequent and I'm converting over to all sps as well which will up the use. Maybe I'll switch then or go for the litermeter 3 to dose the 2 part as well as the kalk.
