Well I checked out the fish again today, it looks a little ragged around the fins but was eating frozen brine well. I hummed and hawed then noticed the price tag labeled "AC Blue Ring Angel $79.99". Double checked and sure enough, "AC" stood for "aqua cultured". This one was imported by Quality Marine from Bali Aquaculture and subsequently shipped to my LFS. Decision made
Sorry for the lousy pic:

About 1" long, after a 1 1/2 hour aclimation it went into my med/observation tank along with my pair of pyramid butterflys. Their QT clock gets reset, but wasnt going to put any fish into my 115 gal QT tank until Sept.1 anyway as I have 360 lbs of live rock that I want fallow for 10 weeks.
Should I be concerned with the ragged fins at this point or wait and see if any rot/fungus develops? I usually keep fish in the med tank a minimum 8 weeks before they go in either the DT or my larger QT. They get a week of Prazi as a prophylactic treatment after week 2 and no other meds unless something appears. Is this an OK procedure?
Thanks again to all for the encouragement and advice.

great score!
that is one of Wen's fish and they are adorable and wonderful...looks like your lil girl was perhaps getting picked on...keep your water crystal clear..I would feed the heck out of her, 7 or more times a day, in a week or 2 after she is comfy dose prazi...then wc and 2 weeks of observation (no meds) then cupramine- I would recommend ramping up the dosage very slow, slower than the recommended on the bottle due to her tiny lil size...yours looks like she is already beginning to change coloration on her belly and these fish have been changing at very small sizes...I got one in Nov, about the same size, she is now just over 2 and changing nicely and in my parent's tank...
good luck with her they are spectacular fish and watching them change is remarkable- keep taking pics!
