pond pump for sump pump???

I am creating a wet/dry system for my 60G and would like to know if anyone has used a "pond pump"(ie MAG9.5 or a Sunterra) in thier sump?? I am placing a 20H under my 60 and need some info on a good sump pump....?? any suggestions eould be greatly appreciated since I have allready spent the money for the sump....

I'm using a Mag drive(500gph) for my 65gal tank with a tidepool 2 sump. It works fine except for excessive noise. Mine is in the living room and is just too noisy. I am replacing it with a Rio 2100 this weekend.
