Pooky's 300

Kenny, once again, I am sorry for all of your troubles. I sure hope that you find the inspiration to keep trudging on :)

Yep. The VHO actinics went in in late August and the T5HO's in early September. I still need to change one of the T5 bulbs to a Blue+ though b/c the Aquablue is really white and washes out most of the colors.

I think that by the time I am done with adding fish and the tank is finally ready for corals, I am afraid that my fishies won't let the new corals grow up :D

 At least you can still laugh about it man. Hang in there people are rooting for ya.

I always say, "If you can't laugh about it anymore, then it's time to stop." I think I'll put in some bleachers on the other side of the garage for all the cheery folks :bounce3:

I like the fish dominated tank myself..... so much easier :).

Brian, I don't know about the easy part. It definitely has it's challenges. And expenses that could knock you out cold if you are not careful. I never thought I would be keeping the fish I have today. It makes me nervous just thinking about some of the price tags.

Hope everyone had a great holiday and happy New Year's!!! Finally settling back down after spending some quality time with family and friends.

The tank is still doing ok. Hadn't lost anything else since the deepwater colony. The remaining Acros are all showing signs of growth, especially the stags. Colors are still off a bit.

On my way up! :D What sort of libations should I bring?

LOL.......none needed, just some good conversations will suffice

Any suggestions on a cool looking fish to take care of bubble algae? It's starting to pop up all over the place and become a nuisance.

Kenny, I'm deal with the same issues. Here are two that i like Siganus punctatus (Gold Spotted Rabbitfish) or Siganus magnificus (Magnificnet Rabbitfish).

Just curious, Brian. You like those two because they are better at eating bubble algae or you just like them more compared to other Siganus species because of personal reasons? I wonder if they are all good candidates for our purposes. I do like the S. punctatus and the S. doliatus (Scribbled Rabbit). Not only do I want one to get rid of the bubble algae, but I would also like one that's nice to look at.

Kenny, FWIW I've got a S. doliatus maybe just my fish but he's never shown interest in valonia, nice fish (IMHO) though.

i have had good luck with S. punctatus in the past... i like the look to. Both i listed IMO are some of the better looking out there. There are a few that might look better but are harder to get. I never had good luck with S. doliatus before. I've try a few and they seem to pass for no reason. It might be the source , but IME they are hard to keep long term.
