I noticed yesterday that tissue is sloughing off of the huge Cali tort in the center of the tank, starting at the base of the left side branches. Got worse this morning when I looked at it. The right side seems to be fine. I have made no changes to the tank whatsoever and the parameter are fine. I may have to pull it out and cut off the left side. That's the center piece of my tank

The right side is also showing some STN but not like the left side.

Tell me about. I guess that's part of the hobby. Some things are really out of our hands.

To get my mind off the sad state of my tort, I replaced the 2 6100's in the front of the tank with the new 6105's. They look much sleeker and are working without a glitch so far. When the lights come on tonight, I'll snap a few pix of them in the tank.

I also took some coral pix while I was tinkering with the tank.

nice Tunze upgrade! Those look sweet! And those last coral pics are crazy!

How are you going to run the electrical cords for the Tunzes if the pumps are going to go in the front? Run them along the side edges of the tank?

Thanks M. Yep, the cords just run along the top side edges of the tank.

I'll be changing out the reflectors soon also and re-route the plumbing next to simplify things a bit.

Already chopped up but will have to do more. Noticed a few more bleached spots this morning Will post up some pix in a bit.

I am just about in tears as I type this This is a shot from last night. The colony just went through another round of hard pruning about 30 minutes ago

This was my baby from over a year ago in Dec '08.

Otherwise, everything else in the tank looks great.

The new Tunze 6105's are awesome so far. Please ignore the glob of nori stuck to the shroud

looking good, bummer you can't have it inside, I have an 8' acrylic in my family room in the basement, in wall, also a 300, your going to love it!

Thanks! I actually enjoy having it in the garage. I can make a mess and not have to worry about it. In hindsight, it was the right decision to put it where it is now.
