Popeye recovery time

I bought a chevron tang at a LFS for which I always have trouble with new addition health. I should know better but couldn't restst the price of the fish. Needless to say, within 3 days he has a major case of popeye in one eye. He is in Qt so treating him was easy. He's been on Furan 2 for 4 days now and just in case, I am treating him for the past 3 days with Prazipro. The question I have is how long should it take before seeing a major improvement?

Other than the eye he seems ok. He was flashing a bit at first but since adding the prazipro that has subsided. Thanks

I went through a bout of this with my Gold Flake when my tank lost its seam. Don't know if it was from the over aeration from pump running or maybe she bumped both eyes during the commotion. I treated her with epson salt and Melafix. Took probably 2-3 months but she is back to her beautiful self. Good luck

I had a juvenile Emperor Angel that got it in one eye. It was huge. Three days later it was gone. About a month later it got it in the other eye. Three days later it was gone.

Now, a semi-adult and has had no pop eye for more than a year and a half.

It can really be variable. Is one eye, or both; cloudy or not cloudy? Often recovery happens without any intervention in a few days to a week. Antibiotics may help, though I haven't found recovery to be markedly improved versus 'doing nothing'. Sometimes the eye is lost.

its cloudy in 1 eye. I'm on day 5 of meds and it has shown little improvement. I guess maybe I should try the epsom salts as well.
