Without more developed branches it's impossible to be 100%. It is porites.

Thanks Brian, that's what I figured after looking at More pics on corals of the world.

It's base is starting to turn yellow which is nice too.

So for porits ... I should place it in high flow and high light I guess as they grow pretty shallow in oceans too ?

ill try to take a closer pic. I have tried growing monties on dead branchy corals, but they grow a bit different than this, at least the skeleton, but I guess I'll have to wait more before I can be sure.

Ha no sorry I was kidding. Porities are really hard to ID imop. You really have to look @ the Coralite skeleton. (like so)

If I was to throw out some guesses.

I'd say

Porites tuberculosa
Porites attenuata
or maybe you guys are right with Porites cylindrica

High flow, medium light. It might even be happier with lower light. I've seen lots of them get light shocked; first they lose PE then slowly die because they are being treated like an Acro. It's a nice piece hopefully it makes it.
