Possible Counterfeit Salifert Test Kits

I was browsing AliExpress and found this listing for Salifert test kits. The seller is an aquarium supply distributor in China, which makes me think the kits could be counterfeit. However, the prices are similar to what Salifert test kits sell for at reputable retailers (BRS, etc.), which is is odd since counterfeit items usually sell for much less than genuine ones.

I also found another listing for bulk Salifert test kits on Alibaba, starting at $6 a box. Why would Salifert sell their products through a Chinese bulk distributor?

IF someone is producing counterfeit Salifert test kits in China, then that means there's a good chance many of the kits for sale on Amazon are fake. I bought 3 kits on Amazon. Now I'm worried they might be counterfeit.

Any thoughts on this?

You know they keep reef tanks in China right? Why would Salifert ignore such a huge market?

Probably worth asking Salifert but I wouldn't jump to conclusions or lose any sleep over it.

I wouldn't worry. There's all sorts of stuff on Alibaba and other bulk distribution sites that seem ridiculously low priced, until you realize you need to buy 1,000+. Retailors buy most of their products at these discount prices and mark them up. Often there are several middle men who all mark up the product until it gets to the consumer. This doesn't mean it's a fake though.

I buy some chemicals by the drum and save tons because it's bulk. One thing I buy is over 20 times cheaper because I buy it by the drum instead of by the liter.

Yeppers ..

I do this with Calking and some adhesives.. Buy 5 and 7 gallon buckets . But you gotta have the right Calking Gun and know how to load and clean it..

I do the same for screws nails and other Similar materials

If the test kit reads accurate then i would say its real.
