Hey so i got my first fish today and my clown fish seem to be acting a little weird and look to have a little bit of cloudy ness on then one more so then the other and the one that looks to have more is sort of struggling to swim. My question is i know i should have QT'ed but didnt and there my first fish. I dont know if its ich or not and if not if its ok i could just be getting worried cuz they are my first fish and everything in fine but ill get some pictures up and see what everyone thinks. anyways should i take them out and put into a QT / Hospital or not?

Trying to get more pictures now, i would take them out and put them in my 20g tank but i dont have enough rodi water to do that i only have like 3 gallons. Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

And acting weird such as falling sideways when laying on the sand bed like tipping over almost and the one that looks a little white swam straight into a rock a few times

Personally I have had fantastic results with Garlic Guard from Seachem. I squirt a little every day into my defrosting frozen food. The first time I used it, any weird behavior the fish displayed was gone the next day. I don't know why Garlic has magical powers but you should really consider using it. Really lowers their stress level dramatically! You can buy a 500ml on Amazon for $12 whih will last you 6 months at least.

visually they look good to me . how long did you acclimate them for? are they doing better today?

lol My clown swan into rocks when I first got him too. they have a weird swimming action. Garlic is really good for enhancing the food and making them frenzy over it. It does seem to be magic, although it is really just good for their appetite (It doesnt really kill ich either) But in the pics they look fine. keep an eye on them and feed them well. just don't over do it. Mine love pellets and frozen. (BTW if they don't eat , don't worry. They CAN go weeks without eating and not die, mine did) It doesnt look like ICH either. Other "swimming" signs are scratching themselves in the sand and rocks (they don't have arms to scratch, so... lol) ich is very itchy...good luck

Clownfish are aptly named because they are big goofballs. I had one that used to "sleep" with his face pointing straight down. They sometimes swim funny, sometimes will laydown.

First time I saw my clown hosting my RBTA I thought it was dead, because it just laid there. As far as weather you have Ich... Ich looks like little crystals of salt on your fish's scales.

Clownfish are very funny to watch, of they start twitching that means they are trying to figure out who will be the male and the female, when I first got into saltwater I saw that and thought my fish were retarded, then looked it up and found out why they twitch, if u wanna try something fun, take a laser pointer and aim it at the sand and the clowns will chase it, my flame angel is starting to play like a cat also

I don't like the sound of that..... I know my clowns sometimes act strange and goofy (thus the name) but falling sideways when laying on the sandbed? I think I would worry, too, but since the others seem to think that's normal, maybe my clowns are weird since they don't do that. Good luck with them!

i did have a clowns that would go to the sand go sideways wags their tales and kick up a sand storm. i believe they did this just to **** me off. but yes waiting on a update . and Sue how are your fish? that dragon net is one funky looking critter.

Ok so i think i was just getting worried because they were my first fish and i wasn't sure if that was normal. It seems as if they were just stressed out and trying to stress me too, haha. Anyways one looks to be fine now and the other ones gills aren't puffy at all any more a little cloudy ness buy less then half what it was yesterday. I still havent seen the green goby since he darted for the rocks but the yellow goby is really cool. Thanks everyone for reassuring me not to worry. I wanted to check with every one and not make any rushed decisions like taking them out to there own tank which could have stressed them more. Im happy i trusted myself to sut leave them even though i got worried but they are looking better now.

no i floated them for 15-20 min then i drip acclimated them for about 35 min then i scooped them out of the bucket with a cup and put them in the tank.

Ugh, I have a maroon in one of my tanks that does that. I bought him an anemone to host thinking maybe he was moving all my sand out of boredeom and frustration and even though he's nicely hosting the anemone now, he still does his sand-scaping a couple times a day.

Not seeing much of the pistol shrimp and goby yet. The hippo has a white mark on the top of his head.... he probably injured himself trying to hide under a rock, will keep an eye on it. The dragonette is gorgeous, but will be challenging..... they are as hard (if not harder) than trying to keep a mandarin fed and healthy. Since everyone is in QT, this is the time for me to try to train him to eat frozen mysis rather than just live food. Not optimistic, but determined!

By the way, I saw laxb0rder's tank (I think you said your name was steve but I can't for the life of me remember right now haha) And I must say you've got a very nice setup you've built for yourself. Now all you gotta do is keep your hands out of the tank!

green clown gobys are notaries hiders they look so cool but you hardly get to see them . my catalina goby has been very shy to likes crevices in the rock work and if it sees me it retreats deeper. i hope it gets more relaxed.

lolno what I meant was did you putt four fish in your tank on the same day./ I am surprised no one else asked that because one of the most asked and answered questions on new tanks is how many and how long to wait for the next one. and 4 at once is almost unheard of according to all the answers I have seen on that. can cause an ammonia situation you would not want.
Anyway, I am so glad they are working out better. tanks looking good so far! :)
