possible to cross bred ?

ok ive had my sh system awhile now and had added a kuda few months back . got it from a friend who was breaking down. i have southern erectus males and the kuda is female, now the kicker is my male has gotten prego twice, but i havent seen the babies, and belly is swelling again, is it possible they are cross breeding ? and babies just arent making it ?i see them do the dance together as well

Some cross breeding is possible but I don't know about that particular combo.
Many times I see my reidi males appear to be pregnant but in reality they have inflated the pouch in a courtship procedure and no babies will come from that.
If there was indeed a pregnancy, it's possible you missed the birthing and the fry have been caught up in the filtration system as most times IME, the fry are born in the wee hours of the morning, several hours before lights come on

Check your filter after the pouch deflates. If you have a lot of flow, they could be in the filter. Also H. kuda have a tendency to eat their fry sometimes. I have seen them wipe out a whole batch of fry in less than an hour.

yeah i did that and put a sponge on overflow so they couldnt get past, do have fish in there that could have had them for a snack, it has done it twice now, funbny thing is my old set of erectus bred all the time and this one's belly goes through the whole cycle getting bigger, and i watch them do the dance together and he stalks the kuda lol
