post you favorite pet fish!

point of the thread is simple, everyone has had a favorite fish in their own reef system that you just cant imagine having your reef without so go ahead and post your pics! ive got two fav's..my little fatty tomini tang(meanie) and my bluejaw trigger(elf). still trying to work out how to post the pics of each of them though. once i figure it out i'll join in on my own thread  and just so i'm not labeled a pansy my girlfriend(who named the fish) looked over my shoulder while writing this and made me include their REAL names.

It's hard to choose a favorite, but this is Gary, my amazing and talented Foxface

Too many choices...

Too many choices...

It's hard to choose one, but I think our Magnificent Foxface Rabbitfish "Bugs" is our favorite...he's the only one that eats out of our hands...

well, choosing my favorite fish in my tank is really easy for me.

my starry blenny, the only fish i have right now. awesome fish, i think every tank needs a blenny.

My favorite fish has to be my sister's longhorn cowfish (moomoo). It's got a wonderful personality and even throws fits! If my sister or my father is feeding the tank they have to hand feed moomoo. My sister made the mistake of not doing so and that led to her fish burying its head into the corner of the tank and pouting. She finally grabbed a big table shrimp and held it in the water for moomoo. He promptly ate it.

Don't have any pics, but when I get home this weekend I'll be sure to post them.

A couple fish that I do love are bluethroat and goldenback triggers. My friend has a pair of bluethroats that were like dogs. I could pet them and then feed them by hand :)

awesome pics everybody keep em coming! im still trying to figure out how to post em and once i do'll post some of my guys to

im still tryin to teach mtrigger to eat out of my hand, hes gotten pretyy close with nori so far. lets see some more pics, i'm surprised i havent see any tangs or hawkfish yet, they have a ton of personality

No pics right now... But my favorite fish is most definately my Niger Trigger, named "Larry". He's about 6" long, and he just KNOWS that he's the boss of my tank:) He's relatively peaceful, but from time to time he likes to punk out my green chromis. For some reason, he really enjoys plowing into the front right corner of my tank's sandbed, and burrows down all the way to the glass. Once he's got his hole dug, I'll fill it in, and then he'll dig it out again, time after time. He has a lot of personality, and will eat from my hand all the time. I haven't had much luck with small snails lasting too long in the tank, and I think that ole' Larry might have something to do with that, but I've never caught him eating any of my inverts. I know that triggers are somewhat of a "no-no" for reef tanks, but all in all, I think that they are very interesting fish with a lot of personality, and I think that the loss of a snail here and there is well worth the enjoyment of having such a personable fish in your tank.

No contest... Our Porcupine Puffer named "Diddy". He was a little older when we got him, and didnt make it through our last move unfortunately. Never have I been so depressed of a fish dying =\

Nice video. I really like copperbands. I am going to school for nursing which will allow me to upgrade from my small 90. Copperbands are first on my list. What is the key to keeping one happy and healthy? Any cautions?

Thanks,

Key one IMO is making sure the fish eats when you get it. Don't get one that's only been at the store for a short period of time. 2nd, purchase the same exact food they've been eating already...this way you're not changing everything, just the environment.

Now, that being said, I did get mine from LiveAquaria, but I was on the phone with them prior to the purchase and also had them send the same food they were feeding him with my order.

Mysis, Brine, Formula 1 are all big hits. So are feather dusters ;)

Here's one of the best still shots I have of him...
