Seeing mini-carpet anemones always bogles my mind. They look great but if the purpose of an anemone is to hide and protect a clownfish, than arent they completely pointless? The clown just sits on top of it completely exposed. Pretty weird.

Mini carpets do not host clowns, and they are very sticky. The regular carpets are also considered very aggressive as far as the sting and potential of eating a fish. Most all fish know to stay clear of anemones.

Here's mine:

Here's mine:

When i bought this from Blue Zoo Aquatics, the called it an Orange Flamethrower. As It got larger, it took on these amazing colors.

Here is a picture of one of the anemone in the 55g (it is a clone of the one in the 20g with the clowns currently, just not under 5k lighting). Best part is I picked up 5 of these anemone for under $100. Shows that you can purchase beautiful anemone pretty cheap if you get a lucky deal locally. This picture was taken under Blue+ bulbs, but the color was White balanced and is very accurate.

Very nice, and a lucky pickup! Why don't you share the wealth and send one of them to the east coast here lol.

Lol, maybe after I start cutting them up, for now they have to fill in the space in the 55g.

I have 2 that are easily large enough to split so I may do manual splits on them soon. The nems get fed often, so they should grow and split quickly I hope.
