Digital cameras work by taking a "Raw" image, and then applying settings in camera to convert that data to a jpg file. Those settings are things like sharpness enhancements, noise reduction, etc, and includes white balance.
White balance is adjusting the color range of the picture in an attempt to replicate how the human eye translates it. Each source of light, such as the sun, an incandescent source, or the lights on your tank gives off a different color temperature.
Now, most cameras have an auto-white-balance setting, the problem is that looking at your pics, yours is screwing it up.
Applying a customizable white balance to your picture after it's been taken should fix that, but you can't do it to a jpg because once it's set, it's set, so you need the original raw file.
Not every camera will let you record a raw file, though. What kind of camera are you using?
