Wow BL... Things really have grown in! (from what I remember of your earlier post). Thanks for the update!

Thanks BL, I am going to try those settings. My tank always looks green in pictures.
I use Canon, if my FTS looks green I ussually compensate White Balance setting (Menu WB SHIFT/BKT) to Blue + 9 and Magenta + 1.
Thanks Paul.

BL, you see this recent picture of my tank? Everything looks washed out. The tank is colorful in person but I can't get those colors in a picture.
It also looks out of focus even though I used a tripod

Paul-
It probably looks out of focus because you aren't shooting parallel to the display window. That alone will greatly reduce sharpness.

As far as colors, you will benefit from looking into shooting in a RAW file format and how to post process your images. Getting settings from someone else really won't be that helpful.

I thought that also but here is one taken straight into the tank. Still looks out of focus and dingy.

That I don't know how to do yet.

Hmmm I think I see what you mean. Maybe it is because of the exposure. Getting the exposure balanced with FTS is difficult. Your sandbed seems overexposed on the FTS and that may be responsible for the loss of color. Try a slightly faster shutter speed perhaps..

I can get a little better color by using a photo repairing software. But I am still not thrilled with it.

Much better now, just try exposure bracketing plus or minus 1/3 - 2/3 stop.
At first try to shoot exactly parrallel to the display and the lens at the center position of the front glass display.

BL that is with exposure bracketing.
The colors look a little better but it still looks a little out of focus. The speed was 1/50 ISO 800 with custom WB.
I am not sure the picture I just posted is the one with those parameters but this one is the clearest one I have with this camera.
I will keep experimenting, Thanks for the help, it is getting there.

Paul- that looks much better on my monitor. Things look clearer and the colors are more visible. Do you have any shots of your gorgonians?

Id love to see some. Please post them if you get around to taking any.

Some recent shots from a friend's tank. (Myzislow)

Thanks for posting Mark. I like both of the colonies you have in the 3rd and 7th shots. Any idea what type of Acros they are? Your acans are looking good too.
Are you using a flash on these?
