Potential limewater / ATO issues

I have to say...my my wife really is a doll as it's so apparent she at least pays attention....kind of...

Long story short...I have been away on business for the last week and I come home to her adding Mrs. Wages directly to my ATO resevoir! She said she had been doing it all week. Now....she has seen me mix it the night before and add the clear liquid to the ATO before but I guess she thought she would cut corners :hmm4:.

Anyway...the water in the bucket is clearly milky white but the tank looks beautiful as always. What are the ramifications here? Do I need to be worried?

TIA

Well, only 2 tsp of lime will dissolve per gallon, so any excess will settle eventually. As long as the pH doesn't get spiked by the slight slurry effect, the tank should be okay.

Thank you. I guess I have been paying too much attention to detail? She says she definitely didn't add more than 2 tsp per gallon. My sump looks clean. Tank. And critters look Great. Thanks bertoni

Sounds like it'll be ok with the light slurry . The slurry does , however, contain some precipitated impurities and likely some undissolved kalk which can lead to an overdose and ph spike. Using just the clear solution is prudent, imo.
