Potential problem

When I took my 6000 apart I noticed two things were'nt quite right. First the screw, it seems as if it was very tight coming off as I backed it out and when I went to screw it back in it was also just as tight going in and broke off before it was snug. This wasn't easy to fix as I had to drill out what was left of the screw and re tap the hole to get a stainless screw to fit. That screw seemed way too long to me and also way too tight going in and out which is why it broke. Everything was clean so I saw no reason for it to be so tight. Second, the magnet is cracked on both sides running length wise but it still works for now. I'm pretty sure that magnet was sent to me cracked because it's only been one month since I bought it from marine depot. Despite the broken screw and the cracked magnet it still seems to be running fine for the time being but i'm a bit concerend it may break or fall apart where the cracks are. How should I go about getting a replacement?

Pm me an address. The magnet was not likely sent cracked, the pumps are hand assembled and tested. They crack because of internal stresses from manufacturing and these develop later during use. A crack can stop the pump from running. The screw is very long, it should be a bit snug, I suspect it was either cross threaded or had some debris from the threading process, again this is done by hand. The screw should be 16mm long, almost the entire length of the shaft so it cannot back itself out. If you have ever owned a car for a long time you know screws tend to come out on their own from vibration, we can't use locktite so the very long length is the solution.
