Potters Angel

I just got my new potters angel yesterday. He is fat and healthy. I figured he would be very reclusive and shy. But he is out and about. My regal chased him around for a little bit but then they were fine. Both were sitting in the regals cave. When I first opened the potters bag he was nipping at stuff on the side of the bag, when I put him in the tank he went right to eating "stuff" off the rocks. Then I fed the tank later, and he knew what that was, he went after the food, but my regal angel is an aggressive feeder. I figure in a few days he will find his place and buck the regal at little more.

Ill have to get the camera out later. I am at work right now.
I also added a small flame angel and a Large Majestic Angel. Now I have completed my Angel Reef. So far everybody is getting along. The Majestic does not bother my Regal, and the little Dwarves are getting along fine.

Potter's Angels are sooooooooooo beautiful. I had the longest internal battle deciding between that and a flame angel. The flame won out in the end as I already have clowns to give orange color. But damn they are sweet!

How much did your go for? Around here I've seen it range for $75 to $120.

I got him from live Aquaria. He was $79.00
I dont feel like that was unreasonable, as LA has amazing QT procedures. Plus he is already eating. I am lucky that I have a tank large enough for several angels.

I just went to the house to check on everybody. The little potters angel is so curious. He swims up to me at looks around. They have the cutest little faces.

Potters are really cool. Handling by wholesalers and LFS will determine how well they do.

I have a nickel sized potters in QT right now that will be paired with a large male later down the road. Coolest little angel.

Got mine from LA ( Diver's Den ) back in January, has been doing great since day one. Eats like a pig, and is picking at the rocks all day long. So far hasn't touched any of my SPS, clams, zoas, or anemone. A very curious and observant fish. Always seems to have an eye on me -- think just in case I am going to feed it.

Here is mine about to pick at some algae on the front glass that I had missed.

I'm real happy with the Potters I found. I've had mine for about 1.5 years. It did take about 2 weeks to get it to eat but once it started eating there was no stopping it. Only problem I have with mine is getting a good picture, the fish never stops moving.

Luckily I have a bold potters. I shot these pics this morning. It was kinda wierd, when i got the camera out, he swam to the front of the tank, right to the camera.

do you any of you potter owners have them in an sps tank and o you have problems with them nipping?

Just in case someone else has the same question...

Mine has been with SPS since January, and I have never seen him/her nip at any of them.

Same goes for my zoas, acan, clams and anemones ( Haddoni )

I am aquiring my pair because one or both is nipping SPS, and the owner plans to convert to an SPS dominated tank, so they're being booted. :)

Here's mine. Model citizen, I've had him since January.

(Don't take all of us calling our Potters "angels" as gospel. ;) Every fish is different, and even the same fish that leaves corals alone in one tank and sold to another might develop and appetite for them!)

Great thread guys!! I've been keeping an eye on a Potter's in the LFS for about 2-3 weeks now. It appears very healthy and eats like a champ. I've been debating on adding him to my 240g reef tank, but I already have an awesome coral beauty that will be going in. Anyone think there will be a problem?
