Hi

Do you think is possible in 180g? I will have also a yellow belly hippo in the tank.

Thanks for your help

How established is your tank. Powders do much better in fully established tanks. Also should be the last fish you add.

It's very possible and likely probable. It just depends on personalities. With the powder blue, I'd probably put him in a holding tank for a week and let him start eating, just to calm his nerves. Especially if the holding tank is plumbed into the system.

put the PBT in last and hopefully it will get along ..I have mine over 15 years now and still can't keep any other tangs even when I take it out which I have to do with the arrival of most newbies...

This should be done in a QT.

This should be done in a separate QT with all new fish.

I hate PBT and wouldn't dare put another acanthurus in with one. Mine killed two other established tangs and they tried to kill my yt blue damsel just because it was blue i think. Then again thats just one fish and I understand there are many personalities.

well put

I had my pbt about a year now. 4 months in the current tank. I added a caribean blue tang (another acanthurus) a month ago, along with a sailfin and a scopas at the same time. PBT freaked out at first, going after the caribean blue tang. But agression was over within 2 days. They all school together in the moonlights. Very cool but the PBT is definitely the leader.

wow, 15 years with a PBT, awesome!! would like to see a pic of him

cool, you demand respect
thanks guys...my favorite fish...this one is very aggressive even by PBT standards and has to be removed when most newbies arrive. I place in my 90 fuge where it starts eating right away with no ich or any problems. It eats everything pellets, flakes, forzen and even fish detris if it's free floating..it only had ich once in all these years when I first got it and was even fine during my up grade a few years ago. A balance diet, open good quality water with hiding places. they also like good flow. Mine actually swims in and out around the powerheads...Here's a pic from about 5-6 years ago and looks about the same...it's about 6" now
