Power inverter recommendation

Looking for a new RELIABLE 600 watt plus 12v power inverter.
And a quality battery back up recommendation.
My inverter failed me at 3am this morning when i lost power, POS.
Glad i had gas in the gen.
Wouldn't be surprised if i loose power again tonight with these winds.

Get an AGM battery with a float charger and then connect the power inverter to the battery. Search on Mega Crank AGM 750 CCA. That should get you what you need. These type of batteries are supposed to be safe for use indoors and will provide you with a better solution than a regular UPS type of battery backup.

I run a 100 amp sears marine battery with an 1000 watt inverter and it has done well although the longest I lost power in the last 5 years was 6 hours. After the battery, inverter, cabling, battery case, power cords and terminal ends, it was just shy of $500.

Thanks guys. I do like the agm batt that chris pointed out. Being able to store it indoors would be a plus. However I do have a 1000 cca wet cell batt that i may try to bringing back to life and store outside. If its dead i'll look into a one of the others. That covers the battery part of the equation, any suggestions for an inverter. I know i need to match the inverter to what ever battery i use but do i really need a pure sinewave inverter? Any brands you would recommended for either a pure signwave or modified?

The Marine battery I use is an AGM and also a Deep cycle battery which is important also. PSW inverters are pretty expensive but also the better of the two. You also want an inverter/charger so that it automatically charges the battery in AC mode.
I use a MSW inverter/charger and it powers my return pumps and Tunzes without a problem. If your running sensitive electronics like a Vortech then you might need PSW.
The inverter/charger I use is a Xantrex Freedom HF 1000, not the best reviews but it's worked fine for me.

Man i should have taken care of this as soon as you guys replied. I was snoozing, looks like i'm going to be relying on the gen again and maybe the cars dc power.
Good luck everyone, here we go again.
