power out in aurora

Is this the part, where in completely bad taste, I offer to rent my 6500 watt generator out for an obscene price? :)

Please everyone don't stone me, I am just kidding. If anyone was local to me I would gladly help them out.

Power has been out in Medinah since 8am with no restoration time estimate from ComEd. I have 7 battery powered air pumps running on 3 displays and a sump. Oh, how I wish I was already downsized to the one tank that I actually care about...

Think I am going to look into a UPS or some battery backups for my vortechs, as I am totally unsure of how long the battery powered air pumps will last on 2D batteries that power them.

You would be much better off investing in a generator.

I think the obvious answer is that he doesn't know about the cord that releases the door to be lifted by hand.... or the before mentioned latch is broken or he has no access to get in the garage to release the door from the track aside from the garage door itself.

Currently 700,000 customers without power. ComEd is claiming this the single worst disaster in terms of numbers in their history.

Missing key.....don't want to hack up the door. Are you a locksmith??. :)

And no access into garage from trackside....darn condos.....never got the key when move in and NEVER had a power loss before:(

Do these bad boys plug directly into our natural gas line and just run without having to be refilled, etc? This might be a very good solution to be honest...

Yep....hooks up to your gas line. Best solution if you have a house:)

What is the installation costs on something like this? Now you've got me thinking... 5k isn't that bad, the ones I was looking at were in the neighborhood of 12k+

Bartlett is all good we didn't even flicker. We must have power of steal we didn't loose juice on the last storm. In 12 years living in this house we only lost power 2 times

That depends on what 12kV feeder you are on. I am further south of you Tom and i lose power if someone spits near an overhead distribution line. Last storm we were out for a half a day.

Prob 1000.....I bet you could get one for a total package cost of 5k including install:)
