Was able to give the tank full power for about 3 hours before shutting the generator down for the night. All corals opened up and looked good. Only regret is that I still could not find Chuckie this morning. :sad1:
After shutting down the generator I ran my Maxijet 1200 circulation pump on a 200W inverter I bought at Northern Tools for $25 yesterday. I hooked the inverter up to my car battery rather than trying to buy a new battery and charger. This worked well through the night and I could even crank the car this morning -- I suppose 20W of drainage wasn't enough to drop the battery down too low.
My tank is on battery air pump at the moment but will have full power when the wife wakes up and fires up the generator so she can blow-dry her hair.
This might work if I only have to do it for a few more days. Hoping today is the last day, though.
