Power outage on Sat, need help, what to do?

I've just been told that some electrical work will be done on saturday. Power will be out for part/most of the day. Will I be fine just running battery operated air pumps? If so, where can I purchase them? Price?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

From all of the research that I have done I believe you will be ok. When I drove up I had most of my corals in an igloo with a battery powered aireator for ~40 hours. If you are sure it is going to be temporary I would go 1 pump for every 2 feet or so of tank (I read in one thread about power outages). If it could go longer I would look into renting a generator. Just my 2cents. Good luck.

Getting a generator is possible but if I find out tomorrow that it's only for a few hrs, I'd like to go with some battery operated pumps. I need them anyways should the situation happen again.

@everyone, where can I purchase some of these battery operated airpumps?

Just go to walmart to the fishing section. They sell Battery opperated pumps for around 6 bucks. Mine ran off of 2 D cells for almost 8 hours. and they work great they come with their own airstones.

I got mine from walmart. It ran for almost 2 days on same batteries. I checked everytime I stopped to make sure that it was still running. I don't remember the price but they were fairly inexpensive.

Thanks guys, I guess I'll be going to Walmart even though I hate that store. I have a 45 gallon tank and a 10 gallon tank....I know the 10 only needs 1 pump, what about the 45 gallon? Dimensions are 36L X 12W X 24H.

Well i have a 110 with a high bio load. and one pump did it for me. They have the pumps at pretty much any big box store. Meijer, walmart, target, dicks sporting

You can rent a small generator from HD for the day.
I'm sure a local has one you could borrow as well.
