power outages, what to do

I live in Elgin and we got slammed (according to my wife) with lightning storms on Monday night and the power went out. It is now Wed. morning and we still dont have power. I had my wife go but a couple of battery operated air pumps and run those in the tank. So far the only fish(Chevron tang) seems to be doing OK. I dont have many corals in the tank but I am wondering on what a couple of days with minimal water movement will do to them. All of this comes at a bad time because I am in Laffayette, LA. for work. Murphy's do his thing.

Battery operated air pumps thats good. Keep the top open, keep an eye on tank temp, if the temp start to climb past normal temp, put some ice cubes in the bag and float'em in the tank..............Good luck

You can buy a power inverter for your car and run an extension cord to the tank. Just make sure you buy one with enough wattage to be able to run your pumps or just run a powerhead or two. You could not use it all day but could use it at intervals during the day to help cool the tank if it gets too hot.
