Powerhead Mounted on Overflow?

This is probably a silly question and I'm being overly cautious, but would it be safe to mount a powerhead on the overflow box? I have a 93 cube with a corner overflow and a maxspect gyre 130. Obviously a vortech wouldn't work but have anyone tried this with other powerheads? I know silicone doesn't stick to plastic very well and thought that the vibration or push from the water might damage the seam...I don't know.

I'm thinking of doing it on my cube. I just want a way to hide the power supply
