Sorry jovreefer, we must have been typing at the same time. Kudo's to your success!
My secret (i think) is very clean water. I keep my nirtaes undetectable and po4 under .05 pretty close to .02.
I feed my acans and micros once a week with rotifyiers and sps once a week with golden pearls, and cyclopeeze.
I do dose seachems ammino acids (Miniamal amts) but i cant contribute their growth to that. The perameters are very stabil and clean for the health of my sps so that could be a factor as well.
JMO though i am no scientist, or marine biologist. I have in the past with an all zoa tank try to keep slightly dirtier water because people used to say well zoa's like dirty water. Now i think the opposite. Clean stabil water with a food source once a week and removing it before it gets broken down is my thoughts on the matter to keep any coral happy. I believe nitrates and po4 are a growth limiter in all corals not just sps.
I am not saying all you guys must have dirty water i am just saying this is what has worked better for me and its my exp with any coral. Good levels of trace minerals, and low nitrates, and po4 is whats in the ocean where they come from so why take a opposite approach for zoa's and rics like we have done in the past?
