Praying Mantis

What is the deal with all these Praying Mantis' in my house?! I swear I have seen about 7 in the last I would say 2 years. Isn't that a lot? I never used to see these things hardly ever!

Anyway, I decided to get up close and personal with him... Enjoy!

Yes, they are awesome both visually and in their ability to capture and consume other bugs.

I just saw one in my veggie garden last week while watering. I was very happy to see him. It's been such a weird cool summer here I think bug populations are down overall.

That's one bug i wish i would see more often, everything else sucks. I'm 21 and have only seen maybe 3 alive in person.

OK SERIOUSLY! ANOTHER ONE!!!! That's 2 in 5 days! This time I didn't mess around... I busted out the tripod. Although it was dark this time which made focusing a little difficult, I took about half the shots and came up with twice as many that I was happy with. It just goes to show just how important a tripod really is. Anyway, hope you like these ones! I forgot I had my camera set to save as JPEG's and not RAW so I didn't even mess with them, these are straight from the camera.
