Recently won a new PM kalk reactor in our clubs raffle. I am having problems with the top loading access plug leaking at the o-ring. Doesn't matter how light or firm you crank it down it still leaks.
Anyone else having this problem? How are you dealing with it??
Yeah thats what I was thinking. Only lousy thing is it's meant to be a convenience port for adding kalk powder. Looks like I'll be re-wraping it everytime I open it. Poor design for added convenience.
I just tighten it with a big wrench. I find that I rarely use the "convenience" port anymore though. I found that it's easier to just take the top off (after draining some water out) and dump in a cup of kalk every month or so.
same here never use that port i make more of a mess as for that ive never had problems wth mine leaking ive has mine for almost 2 years now never had a problem also you may want to post this on the pm thread or email them see what they say.
Did just that. Apparently these are not designed to handle the pressure of a home water line. I had it "T"'d directly off my RO/DI line that went to a reservoir.
I ended up hooking up a gravity feed line off my reservoir to the unit and seems to work great now. Thanks guys for your input. Appreciated.
My PM Kalk Reactor was leaking at the john guest outlet fitting when using an aqualifter to add RO to the reactor and letting the reactor's pressure push the outlet to the sump. I changed it so that the aqualifter pulls from the reactor's outlet fitting and pushes to the sump, then there is a line from the reactor's inlet to the RO reservoir. As the aqualifter pulls from the pressurized reactor, the reactor's vacuum pulls from the RO reservoir. No leaks!
