Premium Fiji Live Rock

I was reading some feedback on your site recently on the Premium Fiji Live rock and was disturbed by some of the negative feedback lately. Any thoughts on this? I am looking for the highest quality stuff I can get for a new 25g reef tank I am setting up. I look forward to hearing from you and potentially doing business.

Hi Paul,

Anymore Fiji is just not the greatest of rocks. There is no Fiji rock being flown into the US anymore. Every bit of Fiji rock is being brought in via boat, which can take anywhere from 2-6 weeks before it's sold off. This obviously takes it's toll on the rock, and there isn't much left, other than the rock itself.

We have had reports that there is possibly going to be Fiji rock imported again in the near future that will be flown in again, but I have not confirmed any of this yet. I should know more on it this week.

Spend the extra money and get something other than the fiji. I ordered around 40 pounds of the 'premium' fiji a few months ago and its comparable to base rock. I wish I had known the quality had dropped before I bought it.

Its looking better after I bought some other rock to seed it with. After a few months, its starting to color up, etc.

The Bali Alor is going to give you the most biodiversity of any liverock that is being imported right now. The Bali even comes close to having as much life as what the Kaelini did when it was being imported into the US.
