preparations for BAYMAC

Reef Bass

colors and textures
Here is a list of items Gresham says we should bring. The "I" here is Gresham:

-----

All Vendors, Exhibitors and Clubs

. Extension cords â€"œ please bring at least 20’ of extension cords, preferably more. The venue is not stocked with power solutions for us.

I will have some job boxes and larger cords to get power to central locations.

. Tables - we have limited amount of tables so please contact me if you need one. We’re about 10 shy at last count to cover all 25 vendors.

. Chairs - we have all the chairs you could possibly need though

. Petty cash â€"œ bring enough small bills to make change. This seems to be an ongoing issue and one easily solved by getting change prior to the weekend

. Trade show bags - Reed Nutrition is supplying bags for anyone to use

. Banners â€"œ booth sizes will be just under 10’ wide by 8’ deep. 8’-9’ banners work well for the back wall.

Wet Display

. Tables - we have limited amount of tables and what we have won’t support more then 150 pounds. I suggest bringing a stand for the tank

. Lighting â€"œ we request you keep all lights to 175w and below. You do not need a ton of light to show them off.

. Floor covering â€"œ please bring a plastic drop cloth or tarp if you plan on having a wet display

. Siphon hose & buckets â€"œ The Aquarium showroom will have wheeled garbage cans to move water around, please bring your own siphon hose.

. Bagging supplies â€"œ rubber bands, bags, containers, etc

. Water â€"œ The Aquarium Showroom will be supplying all the water for the event.

. Towels â€"œ bring hand towels, etc to keep your area dry if you plan on having a wet display

. Heater â€"œ bringing a heater along is not a bad idea given the odd weather we’ve been having

. Pump â€"œ We highly encourage you to use some sort of device like a power head for water movement.

. Tank â€"œ Shallow tanks work best at events like this. You do not need a massive tank. Use what can hold what you’re bringing.

We should decide on a "wet display solution". Who has something we can use? I can bring my 10g QT tank if necessary but hopefully we'll have enough frags that it won't be big enough.

I may have a 20 gallon acrylic in the attic but I wouldn't use it unless no one else has anything. It's most likely scratched up.

We're also going to need some kind of table or support for our "wet display".

A 20 long might be about the right size. Something shallow with bottom space versus tall with small footprint.

I assumed someone had the items we needed before we accepted the booth. Worst case scenario is just put the frags in containers and display with the lid off. Possibley with a 20K mh placed very high above them to show off the color. I have a 150w de fixture I could bring but someone would have to figure out how to suspend it.

Just make a simple rack using electrical conduit. I see those at tons of shows :)

I have loads of tanks myself. I can see what I have that might work for you guys. How many frags do you expect to bring? 50? 100? More?

it's heavy when empty but you guys are welcome to use my old frag tank.

Thanks Mike but I think we may have it covered.

Bob provided a folding table, a heater and a 12g nano cube with built in light and pump. I have a 10g with a pc fixture, heater and hob filter. That may do it.

What type of tubes do those tanks have? I recommend blue light to show of those fluorescent pigments. I may have a few you can borrow if needed. New bulbs would be best.

The bulb in my pc fixture on my 10 is a combo daylight / actinic and essentially new.

Bob's 12g nano cube has a 10k pc bulb in it. Age unknown by me.

I'm reviewing the recommended equipment list. I have collected, am providing or have arranged to obtain by BAYMAC:

. Extension cords
. Table
. Petty cash
. Lighting
. Floor covering
. Siphon hose & buckets
. Towels
. Heater
. Pump
. Tank

I (we!!!) still need:
. Bagging supplies â€"œ rubber bands, bags, containers, etc. I could hand out the containers we transport the frags in if no one has bags.
. Possibly water transport containers. It would probably be easier on our frags (and thus they'd be better looking) if we transported at least half the water for wet displays (a 12g nanocube and a 10g). Gresham says water will be availalbe at the event and I've sent him an email asking whether it's premixed salt water, RO/DI fresh water or what.
. Signage!!! I don't want to seen as "those guys standing at the booth in the corner we can't tell who they are". I can print out a 8x11 "North Coast Reefers" sign in black block letters. I would prefer a color logo on a banner. I'd be content with a 19x13 color print of our logo I can print here at home if I had the logo.

Can someone please send me whatever logo ended up being drawn earlier this month in response to my request for a logo for BAYMAC? Dan was kind enough to make one up but as I recall it was modified and I don't think I have the most recent version.
