Price Increase

john rochon,

I have 4 Streams in a box in my basement and no tank. We are moving and I sold my tank and all equipment except the Streams as they are awesome. Rogers customer service is great and if you look at all the comments about Tunze they are very well respected as evidenced by the month long waiting list for the Streams.

Granted they are not cheap but in this hobby you get what you pay for and I'm sure you have spent alot of money on worthless equipment.

It's kind of like telling your non-reef friends that you pay $5-10 for a pound of LR they look at you like your insane.

Don't knock em til you've tryed em.

Using SeaSwirls and Sen/Mag pumps is not all that cheap. None of my Sen and Mag pumps last over 2 years and 2 of my 3 SeaSwirls didn't make it either. I don't yet have the Streams but am looking to replace my current setup with them.

Roger, Do you think Tunze will ever make a smaller model? I think the 6000 would be to much for a 54Gal corner, have 3 900 Maxi-jets in there now on Wavemaster Pro. I get everything Tunze I can. Thanks for your time, John

All of our tests showed that when you went smaller than the 6000 the effect was lost, below about 1500gph from a 2" nozzle the flow doesn't do anything, it doesn't have enough force. For smaller aquariums we offer the Turbelle Electronic which have proportionally sized 1" nozzles. I think a 7300/2 would do a very good job on that aquarium. The biggest problem with making smaller pumps for us is everyone makes smaller pumps and we have to specialize. We could not compete price wise with the cheap labor and production costs of a manufacturer in Italy or Asia so the smallest we currently offer in the US is our 1600/2 which does 427gph.

I am looking into these. Unfortunately for me, it will probably be after July when I get them. I have a 180g aga. What do you suggest for this size tank?

For SPS and leathers- high flow corals- I think a TS24 kit is the best- 2 6100 and a multicontroller. For softies and LPS 2 6000 and a multicontroller.

Thanks! Do I have to purchase them from a retailer or can I get them straight from the company. I'm looking for the best deal! :) How much does the TS24 kit run?

I don't sell direct. A TS24 kit runs just under $800. I wouldn't expect any discount as they are in short supply and generally you will have to wait. Your best bet is if you have a coupon from Champion, Premium or Marine Depot, they usually issue 5% or 10% off coupons to regular customers.
