I don't think it is that simple to blame either entity, there are to many factors on the supply side that dictate price as well as people who can afford it and those who can't and complain about it on the demand side. I bet you know who wins in the end? Both, the guy that sells the coral and the guy that finds the coral worth what is paid. It all comes down to personal choice if you find the coral not worth it then why would you spend the money? There are those that find corals and reefing to be a form of collecting unique specimens wither it be SPS, LPS or softies those who collect the many different color morphs or species tend to spend the money to get said corals. There are others that just want a variety and don't have the collection mentality, they usually won't spend the cash because it isn't worth it to them. Either way it's a personal choice and when it comes down to that, neither side is wrong wither you on the collecting or the general reefer. It's just two different philosophies on the way you want to go about reefing and what you are willing to spend on corals...
