Prisitine plumbing thread!

My overflow plumbing is 1" coming through the tank bottom. Is plumbing the entire overflow with 1" sufficient or is there some benefit to using larger piping such as 1.25"? I plan on joining the two overflows with a Tee and then using a single pipe down into the sump.

The tank is a 110 and the return pump an Eheim 1262 that is probably flowing 500 gph.

Not finished but getting there.

My return pump is less than 26" below the tank water line so head loss is not really an issue.

It's not "pristine" or incredibly great but this was my mock-up. I"ve since torn it down and painted the piping.

I love this thread. My plumbing is bulkheads and spa flex for super simplicity tho so I don't have anything good to post

Not complete yet but thought I would share my new build.
All DIY except the zeoreactor.
Sump is a glass raceway. Plumbing is all schedule 40 primed, painted and clear coated with saltwater and uv waterbase finish.
My goal and reason for the bends is flow and noise. It is very quiet. So far I am pleased with the results.
First picture is without the 20k radiums on.
Thanks for bumping this thread! I forgot about it.
Be blessed!

It's a little hard to see in the pics, but does your skimmer sit inside a walled off part of the sump. This is one of the few sumps that is not full width baffles across the tank where water comes in one end and leaves at the other end. I just finished mine and am waiting on my gate laces before plumbing it in.

Nice job everyone.
This is my favorite thread.
Has anybody seen the tank build from aquatron.
He did some awesome work.

That's super slick Watson!

Here are some drawings from the original design to help you understand my sump. Its all glass I got from a Habitat For Humanity outlet. The glass was shelving originally I think
