Problem: Tunzie Osmolator works until tubing hooked up

I just got a replacement TO pump to replace one that went out. Hooked it up just like before with the same tubing. However, it will not push water through the tubing. If you disconnect the tubing it will shoot water straight up in the air. Furthermore, just to check if there was something in the line, I hooked up only a 1 foot length and it still will not push the water..... thoughts???

Are you using the original tubing and the adapter fitting on the pump? I can think of 3 possibilities.

The hose is inserted too far into the pump which would only be possible if the included white reducer was omitted from the pump or another type of tubing was used. The correct set up fits so tight the tube will only be in about 1/4-1/2"

The potentiometer on the controller is turned down to nano (assuming it is post 2012 unit). If it is pre 2009, it could be an issue with the controller as these had less power to run the pump than newer units. A wrong power supply could also be a cause if one from another aquarium product was inadvertently swapped in.

The pump is faulty.

and the solution was.... it was set at nano. Now, the reason I didnt check that is because I have been running my 600g with this controller and it was working all along with the switch at nano. With the new pump, it wouldnt work so I opened her up and moved the switch....go figure.

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

The small potentiometer is not perfect, you can turn past the end of the contacts so the contact is very poor or non existent, likely just turning it up a hair past nano would solve it.
