Problem with Stream 6205

I have a Stream 6205 pump that stopped working recently. If I unplug it for a while and plug it back in it works for a minute and then I hear a click from the pump and it stops. Any ideas? I recently cleaned it so it doesn't need cleaning.

If it is clean so the magnet can spin easily on the metal shaft and it is not stuck to the shaft then it is likely that the motor is failing, please send it in.

To catch on the issue,
Roger what could cause this problem? At the customer thank this is always happens with all 8 pumps, whenever we clean pump, it stop working. We have send so many from herer to Germany, last 2 were returned back with report no problems found, in good will they send 2 new slom ac adapters and now thsi pumps work.

Yesrday 2 other pumps stop, I try with new AC and they don work. From time to time they will start , work some time and than stop.

It sounds like you have had some bad power supply and bad pump both different batch. you will need to send the recent pumps to Tunze Penzberg Germany for repair.

I have also had the same experience with a 6205. Pump failed as described after 4 months use.

Roger - I was the originator of this thread.... I never sent my pump in since the problem kind of went away. I say kind of because it works but once in a while I hear a clicking sound from the pump. Can I send it in for someone to look at? Again, all of my problems seemed to start after I cleaned it.

Yes, no info is needed outside the box, but be sure a return address and phone number is on a note inside the box.

does tunze send out refurbished pumps? i remember sending one back to marine depot because it had scratches on the cord...i hate having to listen to my loud but reliable vortechs!

We don't send out refurbished pumps, we only take returns from end customers and those returns are repaired and returned to the customer, not resold. Everything we sell is hand assembled and packaged and it is not impossible for an item to be less than perfect and have some scuffs, etc from packaging and handling. Four pumps would be very unusual and would generally point to a common cause most likely, wet power supplies or connections or all pumps locked up by calcium. I am happy to take a look at them but I would first open the pumps and make sure the propeller assembly spins freely on the metal shaft, the most common cause of a multiple pump failure is the props locking to the metal shaft by calcium build up or some fine sand that was stirred up.
