problem with Yuma

4 weeks ago I got 5 Yumas, whiah all arived looking good except that one had become detached from its coral gravel substrate and was floating free:eek2:. I put it in a perforated plastic tub covered with net, and put him at the bottom of the main tank (30" deep, 2x 54watt T5s) then I put him in the sump for a while thinking the light might be too bright for him, then put him back in the main tank again.....anyway throughout all this he has failed to re-attach to his gravel and his colour has been gradually fading and is now a very pale yellowy-green colour.....:(
If anyone has any suggestions as to what I could do next I would be very grateful!!!

take a plastic tooth pick and stick it through the mushroom (close ot the mouth w/o piercing the mouth) and then stick the tooth pick into the live rock where you think the mushroom will be happiest. In a few days remove the tooth pick and voilla the mushie should stay put. Good luck. You can also use veil netting and wrap it to a rock (I have never tried this but I hear works)

Thanks for the suggestion---I'll give it a try!
Do you have any thoughts on why his colour has almost disappeared?

well browsing through other threads on this forum it would seem to be quite a common problem wiht yumas....some people say due to too much light, others to not enough, and some seem to have had it happen to rics they have had for several years without any problems....so I guess its wait and see time....

I have 7 different Yuma colors and I have never had any detach rom the rocks, I have had a rhodactis do it though. Good Luck with the Yumas.
