i have a 29aga drilled 1" for over flow and 3/4 return with a rio 2100 pump, here is my problem the over flow is really loud and i have really strong overflow too much water is flowing down my sump is 10G, my question is how do i slow the flow down or even quiet it down i also feel like the return isnt strong enougth here is a video of the overflow/ sump and the durso pipe

Well, if the return isnt strong enough but the flow into the overflow and sump is too strong, you kinda have a problem that is unsolvable with just the one pump. To address the overflow/sump having too much flow,
you can put a gate valve somewhere in line of the return flow. Either right at the pumps output or somewhere in the return line. That allows you to throttle down the pumps flow to accomodate the sump and the overflow having too much flow. That will also further reduce your return flow. So, you can add powerheads / propeller pumps inside the tank to increase water movement. Or build a closed loop system with a single external pump that takes water in from the display tank and then returns it through, usually, several return lines located at different spots in the tank.

I would install a ball valve and try to throttle that pump back. It's likely about twice the pump you need. This will help with the sump issue as well. From what I can tell in that video, it's more flow than the sump can really handle without adjusting the baffles in the sump.

As far as the standpipe, it may fix itself with throttling the pump back. If not, adjust the air/water mix. You should be able to get it pretty quiet:)

Dude, way too much flow for 1" pipe. The water level is higher that the drain level. Mine stays about 2/3 u on the horizontal part on the drain. Hopefully you can back off the pump volume without burning the pump out. You'll need to make sure the pump is pressure rated.

I'm not sure how you would need a pressure pump to turn the flow down. It's no different than adding more head to the pump. It's true that he may opt for smaller pump in the future, but throttling this one back 25-30% will not cause any issues:)
