Prodibio and VSV

Hi all, I am wanting to start dosing Prodibio, I have been dosing VSV for around 8 months now and today picked up a Prodibio Bio Kit Reef. I am not at all familiar with this stuff and was hoping you could give me some pointers.

75-80 gal TWV, like I said I dose VSV, but will that effect how I dose the prodibio.
What is the recommended dosing for my system? I would rather trust someone who has had success with it.

I really want to do this, but the instructions on the package are terrible.

Not sure about VSV but I have been using Prodibio for about 1 year with great results.

You may want to does 2 biotom and biodigets then one each every two weeks. The Strod is every week for me and Iodi every 2 weeks.

After 4-6 weeks you can do about half the reefboster at first. and make ajustments as needed.

I just started yesterday. Instructions say 1 amp of biodigest for up to 1000 liters, but if your volume is smaller to still use one full amp so I put 1 in each tank (170 gal net and 60 gal net).

The bioptim is to be dosed 1 amp to every 400 liters (basically 3 amps for every 1 of the digest) so I put 3 in my 175 but only 1 in my 90.

It says to NOT overdose if your system is dirty and to add them every 15 days on the box.

I have the reef booster but will most likely wait until a month or so before adding it.

We'll see! I'm open to any pointers to veterans with this too!

Leif~ I changed over to Neo Zeo, but had good success when using Prodibio... My advice would be to follow the directions for the most part... More info can be found on their website... http://www.prodibio.com/

You're going to want to dose the Biodigest every other week... You dose the BioOptim every other week as well... Some people choose to dose Biodigest one week, and then the BioOptim the next week... I do not think it will make as much of a difference whether you dose the BO or the BD alternating, or on the same week since you are using VSV as well... BO is a source of food for the BD bacteria strains... The VSV will act much the same as the BO...

Dose the Stronti and Iodi weekly or as needed if you have Iodine and Strontium test kits...

Dose the Reefbooster once your system is stable or after your Phosphates reduce to near 0 levels... It is an amino acid/ food supplement for your corals... Dose this weekly as well...

If you are dosing VSV, don't use Bioptim! It's to concetrate carbon solution and you may have a boom of cianos.

I think VSV, biodigest and reefbooster (I'm using Elos Omega) it's ok.

+1 Hold out on reefbooster for about month or two. Test you water parameter.

Is anyone using the Stronti+ or the Iodi+? Or was that just a waste for me. The kit I got just looked so complete and looked like it had everything.

Is there a way to save the contents one opened? My tank is so small in comparison to what soem of the ampules will do I will only need 1/4 to 1/2 of some of the things.

3 days into it after doing bioclean and bioptim together.

My tanks were pretty good already but my PE is a little crazy now! The feeders on the tips are out now with the MH on. Moreso in the 90 because it has less water but still got a whole amp of the bacteria....

I am not using their Iodine or Strontium. Still using my Kent supplements for that.

I am waiting until two doses of clean before doing half and half in my tanks with the reef booster.

I don't know how long the opened bacteria would last. Looks like the others would be okay--maybe in a syringe or capped test tube.

Glad to hear your having good results so far Stanley-Reefer! I am wanting to start thisweekend, I just want to read a little more and try and have a better understinging of it before begining.

The only open vial you can save is the reefbooster.
You stick the open end in a potato and stick it in the fridge.

Yes, althrough i have never done it, since my tank takes a whole vial, but thats what Ive been told.

Do it! It's just bacteria that is more specific in nature/function that already in your tank athough dosing the bioptim may be a a little tricky since you do vodka too.

Okay, one more question.

On the weeks when you dose bot, for instance, I want to start Sunday, can I dose two different things in the same day?

I want to start with the Biodigest and the Stronti+ plus, can I dose the two of them in one day?

And does this dose sound right for an 80 TWV system; 1/2 ampule of Biodigest, and 1 or 2 drops of Stronti+?

I just started with the reef kit also. Last week I dosed all 5 at the same time. No problem whatsoever. The reefbooster made the water cloudy but it cleared overnight. To your question, it's ok to dose both in the same day or about the same time.
