We have a LFS (Robs) that can get the Prodibio products now! Thats right, in Jacksonville, who said we were beind the times?

We locked in a distributorship with Prodibio last month, as the buzz for this product has been great here, as well as other reef forums.

We look to offer the Prodibio line to other LFS in the USA, and in the area very soon!

RK,
Thanks for your order!

No extra equipment is necessary, and their packaging allows for easy and very long storage. It provides a bacterial solution to removing nitrates and phosphates from aquarium water, and providing food for SPS corals.

There's more to it, but that's the basics.

This is a long thread, but here is where it all started on RC recently: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=700454

I have been following the thread since it started and there is a lot of good info, but it would take a long time to extract it from all of the posts. I have also had discussing this with 'TryTheChi' through PMs.

I have been using Prodibio for about 2 weeks and yes I have noticed a difference already. Primarily, beginning on the second evening when lights are out in the tank PE (polyp extension) was significant. I had a few SPS that never showed much PE and now they do!

I also have a small frag that was salvaged from a bleached colony that has had a white-yellow pigment every since the incident (went on vacation for 10 days in November and all SPS were bleached when I returned). The colony had a orange pigment with deep blue tips. The color never returned in the frag and tips remained white-yellow as well for the past 4 months. Now it is showing a faint tint of blue on the tips for the first time. I have a no-so-good before pic and decent after pic that I can post if you want.

If anyone wants the additives/dosing information that I have extracted out of the LONG thread (link above), I can provide it here. There are more additives used than just Prodibio in "Iwan's method", but since I just started I am only using Prodibio right now. I have had good results so far and nothing bad to report.

Rob has been following Iwan's thread as well so I am sure he has gathered some helpful information too!

How do we know that this isn't just another snake oil (French Snake oil that is)? I remember a guy named Mark Weiss and all of his innovative supplements. Turns out they were just medical glucose. I think we should all be very wary of magic tonics no matter how attractive the packaging or marketing. History has shown that these types of products all have drawbacks some of them serious. Time will tell with Prodibio, but generally history repeats itself.

Time will tell. Prodibio is a bacterial approach to certain situations that we deal with in marine aquariums. It is similar in some ways to Zeovit.

I hate the Weiss stuff too.

I'm a newbee to the area. But think all the hype about all this stuff in a bottle taking care of the problems we have with our tanks is just $$$$$$ in somebobys pocket!!!

You know, I'm sure they said some of the same things about other things when they first came out, inlcuding:

1) The lightbulb
2) The car
3) The plane
4) The protein skimmer
5) The UV sterilizer

The point is, that while it is wise to be wary of new things, it is also not wise to dismiss, out of hand, new things.

Personally, I'll withhold judgement and statements until I see the results other people have.
