Now that I've gotten the Profilux setup on my network, anyone gotten the email portion to work?

What is the difference between the two Email settings (from Profilux and from PC)?

Is there a way to get the Profilux to send you periodic emails listing senor data rather than just when an alarm goes?

Does the email work sending throught Yahoo.com ?

Thanks

sending emails from the Profilux means your pc does not have to be switched on.

Yes you can set up email alerts.

The email client works with all POP3 accounts I believe but not being the GHL IT guru I will leave it for an-other to reply in detail to that one ;)

I was able to get the email thing to work.

With Yahoo (in the US), you need this address:
smtp.mail.yahoo.com

Port is 25 (standard)

I noticed that the Profilux settings for email are different between the "from PC" and "from Profilux"... The "from Profilux" option seems to be what I would call Alarm or Event driven, it will send a predetermined message when a given Digital Input or Alarm has occured. Then I noticed that the "from PC" portion has the option of sending actual sensor data values.

Why cant the "from Profilux" be used to send sensor data as well as alarms?

Thanks

the web server is still being expanded on a slow release basis to ensure stability and zero bugs, therefore not all features are available at present, but they will be in time.

A huge change is coming to GHL very soon, Known as PLC6 for now, this is the area that GHL are working on most at present, with tweaks to the server as time allows.

By spring you will have the most powerful tool on the market I have no doubts based on what I saw at Macna on Matthias's lap top ;) .NET is going to be huge! Oh and free by the way as always :)

@MSHUR

try setting up outlook first to see if it works, it's important to pay attention to the authentication section as most external SMTP will require it to prevent spamming. Once you have it working replicate it in the "Email notification (Profilux)"... the important part is the part for outgoing email set up with the SMTP server (Imap is for incoming mail and dose not apply to the profilux)

@MSHUR

it might also be easier to test from the profilux as there are nofirewall/antivirus running that can prevent outgoing messages to the smtp server (comon in new antyvirus package)

MSHUR -

I got the black window when I had the ports for Yahoo incorrect, the black window is some process runing that prepares the sensor data you are attaching to the email.

I cant wait until GHL gets this portion such that we can use the From Profilux (not From PC) email to include SENSOR data :)
