ProfiLux Plus III what do you want???

This thread is intended for everyone to post their ideas and requests of what they would like to see in a market leading controller.

This is NOT to put pressure or stress on GHL but to give some good feed back, so I kindly ask to keep within a level of realism ;) .

Please make sure you understand what is being offered already before posting so we dont get suggestions crossing over that have already been stated.

Third party equipment hook ups can not be suggested due to having no control over others companies choices.

I hope eveyone finds this of use :)

Does GHL offer a small pump for ATO like the pump used on the Tunze Osmolator and Elos Osmolator?

I would love to use my blackberry to access the controller. Also a touchscreen for the veiw

I second a nice larger touchscreen for the view, something that shows all parameters

Good idea in respects to wireless but i feel way to risky due to interferance from un avoidable outside influences. I personally would not trust remote wiring for anything running a delicate system.

Touch screen will be a big thinking point in my oppinion, whether it comes with the PIII right away i dont know but GHL are certainly looking at the idea.

One thing that would be nice, would be able to run an expansion box at the other side of the house. I have water storage on the utility room of my house, and I would like to automate water transfers to smaller tanks near my sump. Right now I have run power cords to the pumps so I can use the Profilux to control them. It would be nice to have sensors close to those tanks as well.

I think this can eaily be accomodated in my oppinion, there probably could be an accessory extension bus cable, this would be quite useful for many users.

You can use the dosing station, and maybe start with the doser 1 and then you can add more pumps as you wish.

So basically once the water level sensor is triggered the dose pump kicks in to replace the evaporated water and turns off once the water has been replaced?

If so that is sweet!

yep already part of the ProfiLux now.

ProfiLux has probably the most advanced water top off and water change features on the market from what i have seen.

What about hardware guys, other than calcium and Nitrate as these just are not available, what other hardware functions would you like to see?

just bringing my ideas over from another thread:
the ideal situation would be web interface reporting of all variables with intergration of a webcam for monitoring the tank when traveling. If the software could be configured to have one or more webcam inputs and serve its information as well as the webcam image as a local website then the user could redirect port 80 incoming to their IP to point to that pc.

Mains detection for when the main profilux III unit is run off a UPS? Then it could SMS out a power out warning or email it out depending on the rest of the local network.

Are the level probes unlimited as well? I would love to be able to monitor RO top off level to avoid running a pump dry and to give warning before it is exhausted, and this also applies to stored salt water for auto water changes. I am looking at getting 2x 265G IBC storage containers for this purpose. ontop of these two probes i would have the 2 for ato & WC, 1 for leak detection on the floor and one in the tank for main tank level. I noticed another controller has a mic for triggering an alarm on those loud crack crash splash events as well - not something I personally would buy though.

tell me to shutup if you dont want to hear all this rambling :)

Also a controlled automatic feeder that integrates with the feeding pause.

My biggest thing would be to make the controller aware of mains power loss so I could run the controller on a UPS and it could routinely notify me by email/sms all the tank stats during the power outage.

A single controllable power point so that it can be used to hook up a single circulation pump for power outage circulation off UPS. It doesnt make any sense hooking up a full 4 or 6 point board to battery backup.

the function for a power point to be designated ALARM so you can plug something in to it and it is trigged when the alarm is on, i.e. a flashing light (think old school single police light) for when you can't have the audible alarm enabled.

the PTC covers the heating side, this is GHL's flag ship enviroment controller, an inline heater that can be controlled from an L port is a worthy accessory though
