thats just the main framing,i plan on adding 2 more beams front and back.i wont have a center brace,,i plan on having a 36" opening for the front doors.plus once its skinned out with 1/2" it will be more than strong enough to support 1500lbs.
alrighty......i added in the front beams and now have a 40" wide opening between them.this should make it easy to get inside to work,i will have side doors as well.for the back in not going to add any verticle bracing,i plan on adding a second 2x6 to the frame effectively making a 4x6 for the back beam.i cant see a 4x6 with the weight of the tank, sagging without verticle supports.i also skinned the top out with plywood.everything has been screwed and glued so it wee be very strong.
the doors im not sure on at all.i might make them but greg told me of some place i might have to check out.the phone is part of the options package 253
i did some reinforcing to the external overflow box,it is a little thin and would probably bow if i didnt add these in.the center brace has a hole drilled in it to allow my OM clone to sit on top of it.
i also glued some acrylic light diffuser to the inside of the overflow box, these will act as fish gaurds plus i will add in some of the black mesh to the fronts of the weirs,so i dont see any fish getting into the overflow.
i was going to do the 2 layer gutter gaurd but didnt want to drill holes to ziptie it on.i figure the light diffuser has small enough holes and it can be glued in so it will work great.i am taking my time, these are all the little things that i can do now.i dont see water in the tank for at least 3 months.heck i already have boxes full of plumbing fittings and some plumbing glued up.greg....how many total watts of lights do you run and how many fans?im almost thinking i can go chillerless if i use enough fans.
