propping up a derasa

I have a 12.5" Derasa an a bare bottom. For a better view I want to prop it up so it will be tilted towards the front, maybe with eggcrate and a couple of rocks. Does the clams bottom have to be protected so it does not get attacked from beneath by snails, crabs, etc.? Or is it ok if it is partially exposed?

I sincerely doubt your clam will be happy with its most vulnerable areas flapping in the breeze. And unhappy clams certainly eventually will make an unhappy reefer. If you could create a solid base at an angle, that would be more feasible, but just propping one side will almost certainly not be successful.

Thanks for the reply, I'll use rock and eggcrate but I'll cover the eggcrate with dyi rock, somewhat like a shallow cradle. Thanks again.
