Pro's and Con's to a Large Tank

Just FYI, This of course ONLY my opinion. I am not an expert by any means, but i have been in this hobby for about 8years. as for cons to large tanks.
I went from a 35 to a 75 to120, and now have a 325 with a 140 sump/refugium. I agree the set up is most of the cost, but get the right stuff and maint. is a breeze. I used to do waterchanges constantly like clock work. Then i met an older reefer who was at my LFS. He was laughing at the fact i was doing water changes, to make a long story short, The reef club had a meeting at his house andhis tank was 500g awsomeness. he did water changes only if a small spike of nitrates were present. So i started doing the same. My tanks have been so healthy since. Let nature work, I have 500 lbs of rock 300lbs of live sand and a big refugium. i do waterchanges about twice a year i have AI sol blue Leds and my electric bill is happily low. So it dosent have to be soo expensive just sayin....good luck

i dont do weekly/bi-weekly/or even monthly water changes...
some of it has to do with the size of the water changes and my setup.

If i had to do it over again, i would have a room with water containers. this is to make the large changes easier.
i am currently setting up a 65gal water container with a mixing pump. i also plumbed in a a few ball valves and i used a 100ft water hose. (i cut the metal ends off of course) this way when its time, i can open a valve, and restrict the other and walk from my garage to any place in my house with salt water on hand. and fill up what ever i need to.

if i had a room or space close, it would make it easier.....
so i only do water changes every few months....
no ill effects.
but i will say that when i do them, all the LOBO's and brains swell up huge and look amazing!! (its hard to tell a difference in SPS as they dont move haha)
and i have no softies..
