Protien skimmer and Randy's 2 part solution

Couple quick questions....
1. Is my ASM G3 going to pull CA, Alk and /or Magnesium out of my system?
1a. If not, should I be dosing this solution in my skimmer compartment and letting it go through the skimmer 1st, and then into the return pump area?

2. When dosing the 2 part solution, I have been pouring it into my sump, right in front of my return pumps. Is this fine? (return pumps do not blow on any livestock).

3. How long do I wait in between dosing the CA (Prestone Driveway heat) and then the Alk (baking soda)?

1. A skimmer won't remove the ionic forms of those in any significant way. The skimmer will remove some amount of saltwater that will need to be replaced with fresh saltwater.

2. That should be okay, although you might want to dose them near the output of the pump if you start noticing any calcium carbonate (white precipitation) in the pump.

3. When I dose B-Ionic, I just waited 5-10 seconds or so until the solution was distributed fairly well by the tank circulation.

The skimmer will only pull out organics and things that are attached to those organics. That could include copper, iron, and a few other metals, but not anything that you listed.
