Protien Skimmer

Hey all,
Just got a sump from FAOIS and now I need to find a skimmer that will work for the setup I am trying to put together.
I was thinking about either a hang-on type and putting it on the sump front for easy cleaning . The other type would be a hard plumbed type sitting next to the sump.
Any suggestions?

What size tank and what kind of load/type of corals are you planning?

not in sump because the sump is primarily going to be a fuge.
it's a 120 that is primarily going to be reef. Very few fish. LPS/SPS corals.

I don't think you are going to get a hang on skimmer that will properly remove unwanted nutrients from a tank that size. Also, it is suggested that keeping SPS corals do best when a healthy fish population is used for coral feedings (fish pooh). I would suggest an external skimmer rated for at least 2 times your total water volume. Good luck, and keep us posted on your progress....
