Who else has an example of this interesting genus of animals?

I think I have P. obtusangula.

I'll get pics of my other ones later...

Yeah, looks like the orange is on reeffarmer's LE list. I also have the LE blue from reeffarmers, a green contigua or obstangula like your pic, and a dark green / blueish random psammo, probably superificialis also. That one in the pic with the shrimp is actually very purple like my avatar, just kind of dark, but you can really see those eyes glow.

love 'em. such a unique coral.

Here's one that was found as a hitchhiker by Mingwei of Atlantis.

Hard to tell from this pic, but it has 2 shades of blue, and maybe some purple, with green edge.

In real life it's a pretty bright. It was far off on the side in one of his frag tanks, but the color really stood out.

When did these suddenly become popular (and in some cases, expensive)? I know people who have had some for years (similar colors, etc., which weren't that uncommon) and they paid next to nothing. I remember an orangish one very similar to one above was about $30 for a colony only about 5 years ago.

Don't get me wrong, I have always liked these unique corals and encouraged people to try them, but LEing seems to drive things crazy...

By the small number of posts on this thread, they don't seem to be all that popular :)

Looks like just a few of us like them!

Different than the usual stuff we see.

think this is the first thread I've really seen re: .

Underrated, imo. I have a thing for them,,, hence my user name ;)

I've always liked this coral. When I had a chance to get the branching form, I jumped on it. I'm more into different growth forms than colors.

Since we're all in to these odd corals... Does anyone collect Leptoseris?

I got mine from the "cheap frags" section of Mingwei's tank. The one where he lets people pick freebies :)
