PTSD treatment tank

I really like the size of it. You get a big tank with a smaller tank footprint. Well thats how I feel about it. Right now I would really like to start moving things over to it from my 40 but I am still waiting for the canopy to get built. He made it then he figured out he made it a 1 1/2" to short so it wouldn't fit. So as soon as I can get my light mounted in it I can get things moved over. Right now it has just been running empty for 2 and half months. But I figure that is good for it since I used dry rock for it. It just gives it more time to settle out and get a good balance to it.

Well just another small update. The coral has gotten here. I think that is a first that I have ever seen. Cherry Corals sent me a ton of corals(not to self hide debit card while drinking). They sent it Delta Dash. Well when I went to pick it up they had to use a forklift. Now that is a first for me. But I can say this, I have zero room in my 40 breeder right now. I have frag plugs touching from one side to the other. From the bottom of the rocks to the top.
But I am still waiting on the canopy to be built again. He got done making it and was going to put some block and braces for moving it over to my house. And that is when he figured it out was a 1 1/2" to short. So all week he has been making a new one. So I went and got some 4"X4" cut to place over my tank so I could set the light on it. Well the light is up and running and it looks so much better with some light on it and not just the light from the room. I am getting more and more happy as this tank goes along.

Well I got light over my tank. As of right now I have two 4"X4" stacked on top of each other. Then placed the tank on them. Just a quick fix until the canopy gets delivered tomorrow or Monday. But I placed a couple of corals in it just as test samples to see how they do. Right now I have a birdsnest and a purple whip that was starting to go down hill in my 40. If it dies its no heart break because it wasn't doing good but if it recovers yippy me. Now for a couple of pictures. I am hopping to make the big move over next weekend when I should have some free time.

WOW... All that tank for those two corals??

LOL...

I hope they do make it and turn around, though.

Yep so they have plenty of room to grow. Now my 40 breeder that's a different story. It no longer has a sand bottom it now has a frag plug bottom. Along with any open space on any rock I could find.

1fishkeeper, this is great to see! I first saw this thread in its first two pages and watched quietly. I got pulled from my first deployment with 2/1 RNZIR, due to a bunch of changes going on (sending over tankies.) I did get a rotation at El minhad post Army days as an Air Force crash firefighter. Keep it up!

One other thing Sarge, how do you find the Sm203 skimmer? I was looking at the 201 but read & heard about so much trouble with their es5000 pumps, I'm guessing the DC is going well? Thanks!

Kia kaha my Ngati Tumatauenga brother.
Stay strong, my tribe of the god of war brother.

Benar Thanks for checking out my build. I am trying to remember who I did some training with down you way with. But its to early and I need to have my coffee to get my brain to work. We did a jump into NZ and spent about a month walking up and down the mountains. As for the skimmer the SM203 is just a kicking out dark brown junk everyday. I am really happy with it so far. Not one single problem with it.

That is a great saying you have at the bottom of your post.

I have a question about the check valve on my kalk reactor. I have the tunze ATO but I think that the pump on it is not strong enough to push it past the check valve to let the water go through it. Can I just pick up a different check valve or should I go with a stronger pump that is if I can get one hooked up to it.

Well I am trying to get everything all moved over today. I started last night and got about half of it done. As soon as I get everything moved I will take some pictures to show how it looks.

Its getting there. Not going as fast as I would like be it is getting done.
As for the check valve it was just the one that it came with. It just takes a lot of pressure to get anything through it. I can blow through it but my little pump just cant push the water through it. So yesterday I went and got a cheap airline check valve I will give it a try here in just a few.

Well here are a couple of really bad cell phone pictures. Sorry I got the water on the front of the tank from putting my hand in and out moving things over.

Well I found something that I thought died a long long time ago. I found my candy pistol shrimp. I guess I need to find him a friend again. But I looked all over for my yellow wrasse but to no luck. I haven't seen him in the last couple of days. My guess he went carpet surfing and the cat hand a midnight meal one night.

WOW.. streaks... someone does not know how to field day.

You may want to invest in the screens that they sell at a home improvement store. The ones you cut and string the screen in your self.

They work wonders!!
